Meet Dr. Swiderski

Oral Surgeon Dr. Swiderski

Dr. David C. Swiderski was born in the San Francisco Bay area and raised in Washington, Utah, a small community in Southern Utah. He attended The University of Utah in Salt Lake City and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in medical biology. He attended Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was involved in many extracurricular activities including president of his class. After earning his DDS degree with High Distinction he was accepted directly into a residency program for training as a specialist.

Dr. Swiderski completed a six-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Some of the first orthognathic (jaw) and dental implant surgery procedures performed in the United States were done at the Mayo Clinic by some of Dr. Swiderski’s instructors. While at this prestigious institution, he was trained in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including management of a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions including corrective jaw surgery, wisdom tooth removal and management of facial pathology. He can also diagnose and treat facial injuries, TMJ disorders and perform a full range of dental implant procedures and bone grafting. In addition, Dr. Swiderski also received comprehensive training in the administration of general anesthesia and intravenous sedation.

Dr. Swiderski is trained both as a physician and oral and maxillofacial surgeon. The residency training program at the Mayo Clinic is integrated with the Mayo Medical School, meaning that while in training he obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree and is licensed to practice medicine in addition to dentistry in the State of Oregon.

As a dedicated husband and father of two children, Dr. Swiderski has many interests outside of the specialty including photography and traveling.
